The
eagle bird has landed! I flew into BIRD Bakery for their soft opening over the weekend and was so pleased. When I heard the San Antonio-based bakery was opening a local spot I was beyond excited. The look of the HP location is unique and different from the San Antonio location, chic and lovely. I was pleased to spy the expectant mother bird, Elizabeth Chambers, flitting around readying the shop and visiting with customers. I don’t think I have ever seen a cuter mommy-to-be!
The decor might be different the unmistakeable beauty and taste of the food has not! I reveled in the glory of the pumpkin spice and a fresh coconut cupcakes. Both were moist and decadent. The pumpkin spice was almost too pretty too eat…almost. A little spice and a little sweet.
Then there was the fresh coconut. I don’t care what season it is; I have to try anything coconut if it is on the menu. This one was sublime. I will have to try the coconut candy bar next time. Think Mounds in cupcake form.
Check out all these wonderful “little ones”.
BIRD Bakery also has wonderful savory treats on the menu. I will be heading back soon for a egg salad sandwich and a cup of warm tea. Best of luck BIRD Bakery and welcome to north Texas!
