I have been a patron at Jaxx Steakhouse for over 10 years.  The food and service have always been top notch.  Tonight was a big disappointment.  Once seated, the server shared the specials with us.  We asked the server what the soup of the day was.  She replied, “Oh, we don’t have one. The chef was out late last night and was too hungover to make a soup.”  Not a joke.  The wedge salad was very good as always.  Jaxx’s blue cheese dressing is one of the best I have ever had.  I have bought it to take home…it is that good.

For a main entree I ordered the lemon pepper tilapia.  The portion size was substantial but the taste wasn’t.  The brandy lobster sauce was not “brandy” enough and the mashed potatoes were tasteless.

For dessert we ordered the white chocolate bread pudding.  It was really good.  The portion size was huge.  The caramel gooey and the pudding moist.

Our server was slow and inattentive.  I wonder if she was out drinking with the chef the night before?

I will give Jaxx another try.
